Gameplay

The fate of the earth and the survival of the human race are in balance as you fill in the shoes of both the Autobots and the Decepticons and every decision you make will decide mankind's salvation or annihilation. The story follows two separate campaigns:

a. Autobots:
The Autobot campaign starts in Shanghai where Decepticons are spotted by a NEST pilot. Upon arrival of the Autobots in China, a battle ensues between the two groups and ends with Optimus Prime defeating Demolisher. But before being deactivated, Demolisher taunts Optimus Prime that 'The fallen will rise again'. The statement leads Autobots to find a fragment of AllSpark which is a source of power and can reactivate Megatron. The fragment is ultimately stolen from Michaela and is used to revive Megatron.

Megatron, revived and powerful, reveals a bigger plot that could jeopardize the very existence of the human race and convert the earth to a fuel cell. In the face off between Megatron and the Fallen, Sam is hit but is revived by the Primes who appear in his visions. Optimus who has also been defeated by Megatron is revived by Sam before the final battle which sees the Decepticons retreating with the promise to resume the war soon.

b. Decepticons:
The Decepticons are planning to revive Megatron using the AllSpark fragment and fulfill their vicious plans for planet earth. Play with the Decepticons to defeat the Autobots as you progress towards your goal of total destruction of the human race.

Features:

1. Non linear gameplay:
The gameplay changes course with every decision that you take. Decide where and how you want the game to end with the non linear gameplay introduced for the first time in the Transformer series. Fight and blast your way through 24 gripping and intense missions which culminate into the climax which will decide the fate of the world.
2. Choice of campaigns:
The game lets you play as both Autobots and Decepticons in two separate campaigns. While Decepticons seek to destroy the earth and the human race, the Autobots seek to save them.
3. Multiplayer campaigns:
The game features multiplayer games with five different options.
a. Deathmatch:
Deathmatch will see individuals battling it out in the arena for absolute supremacy. The last person standing wins the match.
b. Team Deathmatch:
If the Deathmatch is for individuals, Team Deathmatch is for teams. Contest as either Autobots or Decepticons in the battle for team supremacy.
c. Control Points:
In this version, teams battle for control of specific areas on the map.
d. One Shall Stand:
This mode is similar to the Team Deathmatch but the objective here is to take out the enemy leader.
e. Battle for the shards:
In this mode, teams compete to search for shards of the AllSpark which can be returned to the base to earn points.
4. Arena Mode:
Hone your skills and test them against friends in the Arena Mode. Pick your favorite characters and fight alongside friends against an ever increasing wave of enemies.
5. Graphics:
The entire game is played in a top isometric view which lends a unique effect to the third person shooter. Excellent graphics interspersed with cutscenes straight out of the movie gives out the illusion of playing within the movie itself. All characters from humans to the bots and cons have been designed to perfection.
6. Sound:
The game comes with some pulse racing music to accompany the gameplay. The music has been aptly composed for battles and fights along with the other sequences in the game.

Overall Verdict on the PSP Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Bundle

The game is a great play if you have been a fan of the Transformers franchise. The graphics have been beautifully ported for the PSP and the audio has been composed very tastefully. The gameplay follows the movie's storyline, expanding on its missions and adding new features. Playing the same storyline as both Autobots and Decepticons is both interesting and fun.

The non linear gameplay keeps the player on his toes throughout with some interesting and unexpected twists and turns. A great multiplayer with five different modes and completely new level make the PSP Transformers Revenge of the Fallen bundle all the more worthwhile to own.
