PSP Tekken Dark Resurrection Bundle

PSP Tekken Dark Resurrection Bundle

PSP Games Bundle

One of the most popular fighter games just got miniature. But that would be only as compared to size and not on features. The game could well be the best fighter games to appear as a PSP games bundle with a gripping gameplay and excellent graphics.

Originally built as an add-on to the popular Tekken 5, the game eventually has been restructured completely: new graphics, new character designs, new music and even new levels with an overhauled ranking system. The result? The perfect fighter game bundle in the form of the PSP Tekken Dark Resurrection bundle.

Most fighter games concentrate more on the blood and the gore but not Dark Resurrection. The game is not about just punching and kicking but a complete package which tests the player skill, strategy, and fast reflexes. Scoring almost perfect ratings on all review sites, the game manages to score with the players as well.

Gameplay

If you are looking for a story just to feed your need for one, you can have it too, but the game revolves around one basic concept, that of fighting. The game comes with a variety of modes:
1. Story Mode:
The game sees the addition of three more characters in addition to the already existing list of fighters: Lili, Dragunov, and Armor King. While Lily and Dragunov are new additions, players will recognize Armor King from the previous versions of the game. Lily has become addicted to a good fight ever since an aborted kidnapping four year prior to the events of the game. Dragunov, a member of an elite special forces is dispatched to investigate the discovery of a mysterious object from an archeological site. And Armor King's story is as dark as ever; there simply is no clue to his past.

These three additional characters fit into the story play perfectly and add new storylines to the lives of the already exiting characters. The story mode tells the story of each fighter as they compete in tournaments to achieve their individual goals.
2. Tekken Bowling:
First introduced in Tekken 2 for the playstation, this mode sees the players chill out from their fighting and start bowling. The bowling mini game lets you control your characters while bowling in their own unique style. Again the game can be played in two sub modes: single player and strike mode.
3. Versus mode:
The versus mode lets you fight your opponents multiplayer style. Connect directly with friends who have the game on their PSP by sending out an invite wirelessly. The surprise package here is you can also play with friends who do not own the game! Yes that right. Using a feature called game sharing; only necessary data can be copied onto the PSP and the game can be shared wirelessly.
4. Dojo Mode:
The dojo mode is where you can fight characters with different characters. The Dojo mode also comes with hidden mini games where the fighters can unlock hidden features and goodies like winning moves and other goodies. The Dojo mode can be played either with the games AI or with ghost profiles of players which can be downloaded from the internet.

Features

1. Video and Graphics:
The game has come all the way from the arcade to the PSP but visually is just as great. The characters, the environment and the moves have all been built to perfection. Arcade games do not usually work well when ported to the PSP but not so with Tekken. The game seems to be built for the PSP.
2. Audio:
The game has been spiced with pulse racing music that gets the adrenalin pumping during the fights. The sound effects for the fights are crisp and hard with a punch or a kick resonating in your ear for quite some time. The other effects during the story play are also very aptly composed in the game. The theater mode allows you to hook up the PSP to a sound system and play the songs independently.
3. Characters:
The game features over 30 characters including three new characters of Lili, Dragunov and Armor King. The character movements are swift, well balanced and are unique for each character.
4. Modes and ranks:
The game can be played in various modes with each mode having its own ranking. As the fighter progresses through the game, he earns money on his fights while increasing his ranking at the same time. The money can be used to unlock level and even gain additional power. The ultimate goal though is to be the king of the Iron fist tournament.
5. Game sharing:
The game uses the PSP's Wi-Fi capabilities to connect with other players in the multiplayer mode. You can also share the game without installation by simply copying the important components of the game.
6. Downloadable Ghost players:
Ghosts are actually profiles, which replicate other players' styles. Test your skills again other players by downloading their ghosts via the internet. This is more interesting than fighting a predictable AI which gets mundane after a while. The ghosts can be used for competing in the Dojo mode. The game also allows you to upload your ghosts for competing with other players.

Our Verdict on the PSP Tekken Dark Resurrection Bundle

Undoubtedly, Tekken Dark Resurrection is the best fighter game ever produced for the PSP. Though built on a very thin storyline, the vast choice of characters, modes and innumerable mini games makes the game an instant hit. The pure adrenalin pumping coupled with the excellent graphics and solid music make the game a must have. The PSP Tekken Dark Resurrection bundle would make a good first choice for a new PSP owner.
